Dozens of Syrians gathered in the streets of Anderlecht, Brussels to celebrate the ousting and fall of the Bashar Al-Assad’s regime in Syria. Men, women and children who had been living in Belgium celebrated the fall of the regime with flags, music and fireworks. The celebrations were followed by police intervention.

The Assad family ruled Syria for 54 years, waging war against its own citizens and ultimately devastating the country and its inhabitants. Forcing millions of Syrians to flee their country in the search for a better life. Many are overjoyed with the news while some have already boarded Damascus bound flights. However, uncertainty about the future of Syria and especially for the non-muslim population remains.
